Women's Track & Field Takes to Marietta for OAC Indoor Championships This Weekend

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track and field team travels to Marietta College for the 2020 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend.

The Schedule: The two-day event, Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, Feb. 29, is scheduled to begin with field events in the morning followed by track events in the afternoon. Friday's action kicks off with field events at noon followed by track events at 4 p.m. The meet concludes with 10 a.m. field events and 2:30 p.m. track events on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host Marietta and the other eight OAC member institutions – Baldwin Wallace University, Capital University, Heidelberg University, John Carroll University, the University of Mount Union, Muskingum University, Ohio Northern University and Otterbein University.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 22nd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch – Field Events: The Fightin' Quakers will be represented by at least one individual in every field event. Kayli Sullivan will compete in both the weight throw and shot put while Jenna Henneman is slated to pole vault. Madison Dietz is qualified in both the long jump and triple while Keva Cox and Jordan Snarr have made the qualification for the high jump.

Who to Watch – Track Events: Emma Burke has qualified in multiple track events including: the 400-meter dash, 500-meter run and the 60-meter hurdles. Teammate Sidney Fields is also in the hurdles event while Sydney Yontz will run in the 1,000-meter run. Fellow freshman Milena Wahl hit qualifying marks in the mile run, 3,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run.
