(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's basketball team faced off with the Mount Union Purple Raiders Saturday afternoon in a losing battle. They dropped the contest 66-45 to fall to 1-6 overall this season and 0-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).
After falling behind 7-0, the Quakers fought back to a 7-6 score in the first quarter with 3:38 remaining. Natalie Rupp hit a three pointer during the rally. A late Olivia Trusty three would give Wilmington an 11-9 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter.
The Quakers would struggle in the second though, only scoring seven points in the period and would head into the locker room down 31-18. The Quakers would never get closer than 11 points throughout the remainder of the game.
Notables
- Freshman Olivia Trusty led the Quakers with 11 points, while adding four rebounds and one assist. She led the team with four made field goals, with three of them coming from beyond the arc.
- Katie Dryer, Brooke Stover, Cassidy Lovett, and Reese Pittman all tied for the team-lead with five rebounds in the game.
- ZahKyria Walker tied for the game-high with three assists.
- Natalie Rupp tied the game-high with three steals.
