RESULTS

RICHMOND, Indiana - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team wins its first road trip, defeating Earlham 10-7 on Wednesday's midweek. For the third game in a row, senior Andrew Miller led the team by scoring three goals, however it was the two goals and three assists from Jadon Flannery that helped sustain the victory.

Earlham took to the net first as Sam Sargent scored in the first two minutes of the first quarter, assisted by Daniel O'Donnell.  However, their lead only lasted a few minutes. Wilmington answered with six straight and never looked back. Three of them came in the first quarter as Andrew Miller nets the first two and Austin Young got the third. The last two goals came at the assist of Jadon Flannery in two different man-up situations from Earlham penalties.

Zac Chucta opens up the second quarter scoring in the first five minutes. The Fightin' Quakers of Wilmington scored two more times with-in two minutes of each other as Flannery gets his first of the game and Miller gets his third. Sam Sargent knocks in his second of three goals for Earlham with less than five minutes to go in the half, actively trying to keep them in the game.

Wilmington scored first in the third, making it 7-2, as Gerrett Murrell scores his first of the year. The Earlham Quakers' Sam Sargent would not be contained, scoring yet again (three goals) and immediately assisting on the next as Daniel O'Donnell scored his first of two. Connor Judge finally slowed things down for the Quakers, scoring his first of the game on a break-away off the face-off immediately following Earlham's fourth goal.

Both teams scored two times in a fairly evenly played fourth quarter. Young hits in the first for Wilmington, but Cole Burrell and Joel Dominguez answered for Earlham, scoring back to back making it 9-7. However, Flannery's second goal would finish the game with six minutes to go, putting this one out of reach for the Quakers of Earlham.

Over-all, Wilmington out-scored Earlham 10-7. Outshooting them 48-24 and were successful in 12 of 17 clear attempts. Both teams were fairly close in the turn-over battle as Wilmington made 23 turn-overs and Earlham, 21. This game adds to Wilmington's Quaker Bowl total for team sports this season, giving them 6.5 total points to the 2.5 points for Earlham.

The men's lacrosse team is now 3-0 heading into week three. They travel to LaRoche for a mid-week, mid-day game, next Wednesday at 1 P.M..
