SERIES HISTORY

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team begins its 2020 campaign on Thursday evening when Bethany College of West Virginia comes to Williams Stadium for a 6 p.m. contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and Bethany. The Fightin' Quakers are looking to improve upon a 2-13 record in 2019 while the Bison, who will also be playing in their first game of the season, finished last season 4-11.

The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his third year leading the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Prior to leading the Quakers to a 5-9 record last season, Arneson, a Wilmington High School alumnus, spent six seasons as head coach at Thiel College (Pennsylvania). Ryan Hilyer, formerly an assistant coach at Thiel (for Arneson), enters his fourth season as Bethany's head coach.

The Players: Wilmington returns its top four offensive players – Connor Judge, Andrew Miller, Jadon Flannery and Zac Chutca – as each begin their senior season on Thursday. All tallied at least 20 points in 2019 with Judge leading the bunch at 41 to go along with a team-best 33 goals. Miller dished out a team-best 15 assists. Bethany will need to replace its top scorer as Will Gatling left the program via graduation. Tristan Shaffer, Nicholas Melita and Clay Yingling all return having scored double-digit goals in 2019.

Series History: Wilmington is 3-1 against Bethany in program history in a series dating back to the 2014 season. The Bison won last year's meeting, however, 13-11. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
