(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's volleyball team finished their season Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 loss to the Heidelberg University Student Princes on Senior Day. They finish the season 9-15 overall and 1-8 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Seniors Joy Bebe, Emma Schroer, Sofia Thomas, and Victoria Long were all honored before the match.

Set one found the Quakers down 12-9. A 5-0 Quaker run ensued, being led by two Josie Crabtree and one Sarah Brown kill to give them a 14-12 set lead. The two teams kept trading points, with the score eventually locked at 23-23. A Brown kill was followed by a kill from Bebe to win the set 25-23 and go up 1-0 in the match.

The second set was all knotted up at 17-17. However, a 6-1 Student Princes run gave them the momentum and a 23-18 set lead. The Quakers used a 2-0 flurry to cut it to three, which included an Andie Dolven ace, but it wasn't enough in the 25-20 loss to tie the match at 1-1.

Heidelberg took the third set 25-12, but the fourth set was a competitive one. The Quakers had an early 11-8 lead, as Bebe had two kills to this point in the set. A 13-5 Heidelberg run gave them a big 21-16 lead. Wilmington didn't go down easily though, using a 4-0 run to cut it to 21-20. Crabtree had a kill during the rally. They would ultimately drop the set 25-22 and the match 3-1.
