Braya Elsea Joins Volleyball Program as Assistant Coach

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wilmington College Head Volleyball Coach Aly Wiseman has announced the hiring of Braya Elsea as the program's lead assistant coach.

"I am thrilled to welcome Braya to Wilmington College and to our program," said Wiseman. "She brings a wealth of knowledge about the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) and knows what it takes to build a winning program."

Elsea comes to Wilmington from Marietta College where she was a five-year member of the volleyball program from 2018-22. She played in 460 sets as a defensive specialist and averaged nearly three digs per set for her career. In Elsea's final season, she led the Pioneers in total digs (307) and helped Marietta to a 19-9 overall record, a 6-3 mark in OAC play and an appearance in the OAC Tournament semifinals. Additionally, Elsea was a two-year captain and a member of Marietta's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years.

"The volleyball program here at Wilmington College has great potential to become one of the top teams in the conference," said Elsea. "I am excited to get to work with a talented group of individuals as well as a former teammate [Wiseman] that I have great respect for. I am thrilled to share my knowledge of the game to help them succeed. This season is going to be a fun one!"

Throughout college, Elsea worked as an administrative assistant at Elsea Inc. working with sales representatives, human resources and insurance departments. After graduation in the spring of 2022, she interned at Warren High School working with students who have behavioral and social issues.

Elsea graduated from Marietta in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She's currently working towards a master's degree in the same discipline.
