Polar Bears Run Past Quakers Wednesday Night

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's volleyball team lost at home Wednesday night to the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears, 3-0. The Quakers fall to 9-12 overall this season and 1-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).

The Polar Bears won by set scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-11 as they hit .455 in the match. Wilmington's best set came in the first as they had 11 kills and hit .167.

The Quakers led set one by a score of 13-9, but a 12-1 Polar Bear run ensued and guided them to a set win.

Notables

  • Senior Victoria Long led the team with seven kills while senior Joy Bebe and sophomore Sarah Brown each had six kills for Wilmington.
  • Junior Andie Dolven had 24 assists, giving her nine matches this season with 20 or more assists.
  • Junior Emma Schroer recorded 11 digs, which gives her double-digit digs in all but one match this season.
  • Junior Josie Crabtree had one block solo in the match while senior Sofia Thomas had an ace.
