Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that’s resulted in the cancellation and postponement of many athletics events, Wilmington College and its department of athletics remain committed to providing a great student-athlete experience. Both Townsend Field at Williams Stadium and Hermann Court inside Fred Raizk Arena had their playing surfaces revamped over the summer.
The schedules are currently planned to begin on the weekend of March 12, 2021 and conclude on the weekend of April 16 with championship games in all sports.
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), the league Wilmington College has participated in collegiate athletics since the turn of the century, announced on Friday its plans to postpone all intercollegiate athletic competition through the calendar year due to safety concerns amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The conference is committed to collaboration in 2021 to allow the affected sports to compete safely in 2021.
Girouard comes to WC from Archbishop Alter High School where he served as an assistant coach for the last two seasons. He previously spent time at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Dayton.
Fall competition in all sports will begin September 19 and the league will play Conference-only competition in football, soccer and volleyball, while permitting cross country, golf and tennis to play outside competition.
