Garn Garners Third Place Finish on Day Two at OAC Championships

(AKRON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's swimming team concluded day two of the Ohio Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday night in fifth place with 126 points.

Makenna Garn was the lone Quaker to compete in the 'A' finals of the 200 Yard IM, where she finished in third place at 2:13.32 after a 2:16.06 in the prelims.

Both Gabby Kuetemeyer and Lilly Green won the 'B' finals in their respective events. Kuetemeyer won with a time of 2:17.77 in the 200 Yard IM, besting two 'A' finals competitors, but finishing ninth overall. She swam a 2:23.63 in the prelims. Green won the 'B' finals of the 50 Yard Freestyle at 25.29 seconds after a 25.73 in the prelims. She finished ninth but had a better time than four swimmers in the 'A' finals.

The team of Sydney Overmyer, Sophia Mignery, Garn, and Green finished fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a finals time of 1:42.89 after a 1:50.29 in the prelims. The quickest leg was Green's anchor time of 25.26, just edging out Garn's third leg of 25.29.

The Quakers compete in day three of the OAC Championships, beginning with the prelims at 10:00 A.M. tomorrow morning and being followed by the finals at 6:00 P.M.
