The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season with a 13-3 non-conference victory over Carroll Thursday on Townsend Field in Williams Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Fightin' Quakers blew open a close game by scoring the first six goals of the season half.
- Five different players tallied multiple goals for Wilmington, including senior Abby Jude (Lancaster, OH/Fairfield Union) and senior Loryn Bryson (Carlisle, OH/Carlisle) – who scored three goals each.
- Senior Rachel Routzong (Urbana, OH/Urbana), sophomore Becca Petra (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota East) and senior Stephanie Belz (Gahanna, OH/Lincoln) scored two goals each for Wilmington.
- Sophomore Michaela Villinger (Newark, OH/Newark) also scored in the victory.
- Senior Katie Bennett (Newport, OH/Frontier) recorded six saves on nine shots in posting the win.
- Wilmington forced 33 Pioneers turnovers

Wilmington (1-2) travels to Mount St. Joseph 7 p.m. Thursday in non-conference action.
