Two disallowed goals were the margin of victory Saturday as the Wilmington College women's lacrosse team fell to Muskingum Saturday, 6-5, at Williams Stadium in Ohio Athletic Conference.

Senior Loryn Bryson (Carlisle, OH/Carlisle) appeared to have scored the tying goal with less than a minute remaining, but officials determined the goal was scored after a foul was called. A first half goal, that would have extended Wilmington's lead to 4-2, was disallowed due to an illegal stick.

Muskingum seized momentum following the first disallowed goal, scoring four straight – two to end the first half and two more to start the second half.

Junior Nikki Northern (Dayton, OH/Chaminade Julienne) appeared to single-handedly steal the momentum back for the Fightin' Quakers. She forced a turnover in front of the goalie circle, and scored, twice. Her first came with 15 minutes remaining and the other 90 seconds later.

Sophomore Becca Petra (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota East) scored her first goal in OAC action and her sixth overall. Seniors Rachel Routzong (Urbana, OH/Urbana) and Stephanie Belz (Gahanna, OH/Lincoln) also scored in the game.

Senior Katie Bennett (Newport, OH/Frontier) recorded eight saves on 14 shots.

Senior Emily Phipps (Heath, OH/Heath) led the team with five ground balls and Routzong had a team-high four draw controls.

Wilmington (2-12 overall, 0-5 OAC) travels to Ohio Northern 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for its final road OAC game of the season.
