The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team was picked to finish tied for sixth in the eight-team Ohio Athletic Conference preseason poll, the league announced today (February 17, 2016).

"I think it's a fair reflection of the outcome last year but I don't intend on being satisfied with where they've put us," said Wilmington head coach Brett Yenger. "We are working to make this year different and that includes moving up in the OAC."

Wilmington was tied with first-year program Ohio Northern, and ahead of Muskingum.

Mount Union was the unanimous pick to win the conference, followed by Capital, Baldwin Wallace, John Carroll and Otterbein.

The Fightin' Quakers return 74 percent of their offense from last season, led by junior Kiki Hall (Westerville, OH/Central). She finished with 19 goals and three assists in her sophomore season.

Senior Rachel Routzong (Urbana, OH/Urbana) added 14 goals and three assists, while senior Loryn Bryson (Carlisle, OH/Carlisle) finished with 14 goals.

Wilmington returns its entire defense in front of senior goalkeeper Katie Bennett (Newport, OH/Frontier). She played in 15 games with nine starts.

Wilmington kicks off its season 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 27, hosting Ursuline at Townsend Field in Williams Stadium.
