Richardson Earns All-OAC Honors in Long Jump

DAY ONE RESULTS

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Luke Richardson garnered All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honors to highlight the Wilmington College men's track & field team's performance on day one of the OAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University on Friday.

Richardson jumped 22' 1" to finished third place in the event to earn the All-OAC recognition. He finished just seven inches behind runner-up Deven Ward of John Carroll University. The Fightin' Quakers also got points from Colin Myers in the event as the sophomore took ninth place with a mark of 21' 0".

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Evan Whitaker finished ninth with a season-best time of 9:57.43. The sophomore finished just four seconds behind Patrick McGuire's scoring time of 9:52.78. Wilmington had two more individuals that narrowly missed the top eight in preliminary events as Adam Knaub finished 10th (11.12 seconds) in the 100-meter dash and Elliot Phillimore ran a personal-best time of 22.72 seconds for an 11th-place finish in the 200-meter dash.

Wilmington's 4-x-800-meter relay squad of Elorm Dogbey, Josh Cyrus, George Rickett and Taton Bertsch took seventh to earn the team two points with a time of 8:30.96.

The Quakers, who sit in eighth place after the first day of competition, get underway tomorrow (Saturday) at 9:30 a.m.
