Polar Bears Tough Defense Stifles Quakers in 3-1 Loss

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Ohio Northern University Wednesday night in Williams Stadium. With the loss, they are now 2-10-2 this season and 1-4-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).

The Polar Bears took a quick 2-0 lead in the game with goals coming from Will Shaffer in the 3rd minute and Ryan Sommerfeld in the 16th minute. The Quakers took advantage of their lone shot on the night as a free kick was sent into the box where it found the head of junior Alfie Harris to center the ball for a pair of Quakers to make a play on it, as freshman Jackson Beske would leave the chaos with his fifth goal of the season in the 39th minute. Ohio Northern immediately made it 3-1 in the 40th minute and that would be the final score of the contest.
