Men's Soccer Blanks the Yellow Jackets for first OAC Win

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Wilmington College men's soccer team shut out the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets, 4-0, Saturday afternoon for their first Ohio Athletic Conference victory of the season. They improve to 2-7-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in the OAC.

Freshman William Jansson had a special day for the Quakers, as he was on his game from the start, placing a shot on goal in the fourth minute before taking another shot in the 11th minute. His time to shine came in the 13th minute where he scored the first goal of his collegiate career, before putting another shot in the back of the net in the 29th minute.

The Quakers led 2-0 at the half and wouldn't let up in the second half. In the 65th minute, Kaden Young sent a beautiful through ball, splitting a few Yellow Jacket defenders to Oscar Warnlund right in front of the net who got his left foot on it for an easy goal to the left of the keeper to make it 3-0. They tallied their final goal in the 75th minute, as Jackson Beske sent what seemed to be a shot to the left post, but freshman Gavin Morningstar was right there to clean it up and find the back of the net for the 4-0 lead. The Quakers had a pair of shots over the final 15 minutes of the game as they came away with the 4-0 win.
