2023 Men's Soccer Season One Month Away

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team is anxiously awaiting the 2023 campaign that begins a month from today. The Quakers will look to build upon an appearance in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament championship game last season.

Wilmington, which finished the 2022 season 12-6-3, open the season with a trio of road contests beginning with an August 26 scrimmage at Transylvania University. September begins with a trip to Greencastle, Indiana, and DePauw University on Sept 1. The following week, the Quakers will make the trek back to Indiana to face Anderson University for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Tuesday.

The next three contests are perhaps the most challenging stretch of the season. WC will face perennial power Calvin University (Michigan) and Colorado College on Sept 8 & 9 respectively at the Ohio Northern University Classic. The Quakers round out the rigorous stretch with a trip to Kenyon College, an NCAA Division III Tournament participant, on Sept. 13.

After six games away from home to begin the season, Wilmington will finally take to Williams Stadium on Sept. 16 for a 2 p.m. contest against Hanover College. A trip to Franklin College (Indiana) on Sept. 20 follows with an old rivarly renewed in the Quakers final non-conference contest as Ohio Wesleyan University comes to down on Sept. 23.

The OAC slate begins with defending champions John Carroll University at home to close out September. October begins with 3-of-4 contests on the road including: at Capital University on Oct. 4, at Otterbein University on Oct. 11 and at Marietta College on Oct. 14. A Saturday afternoon kickoff with Baldwin Wallace University on Oct. 7 is the only home game for the Quakers in the first half of the month.

The second half of league play has WC at home for three games and on the road just once - at the University of Mount Union on Oct. 21. Ohio Northern University (Oct. 18), Muskingum University (Oct. 25) and Heidelberg University (Oct. 28) The OAC Tournament, which features the top six teams, will be played the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 6.
