Women's Cross Country heads to Wittenberg University for Week No. 2

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The women's cross country team continues to ride the feeling of finally racing again as they head to Wittenberg for the Wittenberg Invitational. The third meet of the season already, and no better feeling than racing again for the Quakers. 

The Race: The women's 6-kilometer is the first race of the day gunning off at 11 a.m. in the morning. 

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by hosts, Wittenberg University, as well as Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan University, Denison, Kenyon, Wooster, Depauw, Earlham, Marietta, Baldwin Wallace and Central State.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 26th season as head cross country coach at Wilmington College. A 1993 graduate of Wilmington, Combs was a member of the only cross country team to win a conference title in school history. Also the head track & field coach at the College, Combs led the Fightin' Quakers to two top-10 finishes nationally with a sixth place finish at the 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships and a seventh place mark at the 2004 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Squad: Wilmington is coming off of a race out of state and will look to race a 6k back in its home state. Milena Wahl has her eyes set on another top place finish, after finishing 10th in Indiana last weekend.
