SHELBYVILLE, Indiana - The Wilmington College women's cross country team placed ninth out of 11 teams at the Grizzly Invitational hosted by Franklin College on Saturday.  Conference mates, Mount Union, came away with the win.

After months and months of waiting and training, the women's team could not be any happier running against competition again. The highlight of the day on the women's side was Milena Wahl running a personal best and cracking the top 10 in the race. She crossed the line in 24:13.73 and placed 10th out of 110 runners.

"It was an amazing feeling running around and seeing the athletes compete today," said Head Cross Country Coach Ron Combs. "We have waited a long time for this moment, and it was good to see where our team is at right now."

The Quakers head to Springfield, Ohio, to compete in the Wittenberg Invitational on September 11.
