(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Wilmington College men's cross-country team continues the 2023 postseason at the Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday. The event will be hosted by conference-mates, John Carroll, for the first time in history in Norton, Ohio.
The Schedule: The men's 8,000-meter race is slated to start at 11:00 AM to start the action.
The Competition: The Quakers go head-to-head against other Division III competition in the Great Lakes Region.
The Coach: Ron Combs is in his 28th season as head cross country coach at Wilmington College. A 1993 graduate of Wilmington, Combs was a member of the only cross country team to win a conference title in school history. Also the head track & field coach at the College, Combs led the Quakers to two top-10 finishes nationally with a sixth place finish at the 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships and a seventh place mark at the 2004 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Squad: The squad will be led by senior Simon Heys and third-year runner Noah Tobin. Both Heys and Tobin came away with All-Conference Awards two weeks ago at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. Tate Yoder has also had a solid second season as the sophomore placed in the top-35 at the OAC Championships.
