Simon Heys Claims His Second DIII Pre-Nationals Win for Men's Cross Country

(NEWVILLE, Pennsylvania) - The Wilmington College Men's Cross Country team places 21st at the DIII Pre-Nationals Championships with 623 points. MIT ran away with the overall team victory with 71 points, with Williams and RPI following behind to round out the top three respectively.

Simon Heys highlighted the day for the Quakers as he kicked his way to his second crown at the DIII Pre-National Championships. Heys went head-to-head with second place finisher, John Lucey, as both crossed the line within a second of each other. Heys finished in a time of 24:46.2 as he takes another out-of-state victory. Heys has been off to a tear to start the seaon as he has finished first or second in every competition up to this point. 

Noah Tobin and Tate Yoder led the rest of the pack as both finished in the top-115-of-378. Tobin came across the finish in a time of 26:10 while Yoder crossed in 26:45. 

The Quakers host the JennaStrong Fall Classic next Friday, October 13th at Wilmington College.
