Men's Track and Field Tenth After Day One

ADA, Ohio- The Wilmington College men's outdoor track and field team competed in day one of the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship Meet on Friday. After day one of competition, the Fightin' Quakers sit in tenth place with seven points, with one more day of competition remaining.

In the field events for the afternoon, Kalvin Butts placed fourth in the discus throw with a toss of 46.33 meters. Antone Truss earned ninth-place in the long jump with a distance of 6.44 meters, while AJ Hightower earned eleventh-place with a jump of 6.29 meters.

On the track, Pierce Burnam earned a spot in tomorrow's final of the 110-meter hurdles by finishing sixth in today's prelim run with a time of 15.54. He'll also run in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles where he'll be seeded second after this morning's prelim time of 54.32.

Hightower squeaked into tomorrow's final of the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.32. He'll go into tomorrow seeded eighth.

The Quakers 4-x-800-meter relay team of Matt Baker, Josh Cyrus, Gage Clemens, and Cameron Phelps earned seventh-place with a time of 8:40.83.

The remaining events will be contested tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m.
