Academic All-Conference selections have at least a cumulative 3.5 grade-point average (GPA) at the end of the semester preceding the end of the spring season. The student-athlete must also be a member of a varsity team as well as be enrolled in a full-time capacity.
The Fightin’ Quakers tallied 38.33 points to finish behind NCAA Division III schools Centre College and Berea College as well as ahead of Transylvania University and Spalding University.
Wilmington will send its entire squad to the Centre Twilight Meet on Friday while the 4-x-400-meter relay squad of Adam Knaub, Elliot Phillimore, Luke Richardson and Colin Myers will also compete at the All-Ohio Meet on Saturday.
The Fightin’ Quakers finished with 37.5 points as a team, making Wilmington the third-highest finishing NCAA Division III team at the event. Host Heidelberg tallied 65 points as the top finishing Division III team while Adrian College (Michigan) finished with 61 points.
The Fightin’ Quakers finished third with 82 points to finish as the second-highest scoring NCAA Division III team. Hanover College won the invitational with 94 points.
Luke Richardson, who garnered All-OAC honors as a member of the Fightin’ Quakers’ football team this season, earned a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 21’ ½”.
On Friday, field events will begin at noon while track events are slated to start at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, field events begin at 10 a.m. while track events start competition at 2 p.m.
Wilmington finished with 136 points, beating Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) members Marietta College, Muskingum University, Capital University and Otterbein University. Ohio Dominican University won the meet with 151 team points.
