The Wilmington College baseball team was swept in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader by Capital Sunday, 20-0 and 19-3, at Tewskbury-Delaney Field.

CAPITAL 20, WILMINGTON 0
  • Capital scored in eight of the nine innings, including an eight-run third.
  • Freshman Joey Hollback, 1-4, (Salem, OH/Sebring McKinney) allowed 10 earned runs on nine hits in 2 2/3 innings of work.
  • Five different players – Tyler McDaniel (Trenton, OH/Edgewood), Gage Bley (Harrison, OH/Harrison), Antonio Miller (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest), Coltin Shafer (Florence, KY/Ryle) and Jake Hyatt (Madeira, OH/Madeira) – recorded hits.
  • Bley had the lone extra base hit, a pinch-hit triple, while Miller swiped his ninth base of the season.
 CAPITAL 19, WILMINGTON 3
  • Hyatt recorded three of Wilmington's eight hits and drove in all three runs. He had a two-run double in the sixth and a solo homerun in the eighth.
  • Hyatt now has an eight-game hitting streak and the game marked his eighth multi-hit game of the season.
  • Shafer recorded his sixth multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-4 with a run scored.
  • Senior Corey Walker, 0-6, (Hillsboro, OH/Hillsboro), allowed eighth runs on 13 hits in six innings of work.
  • Capital scored in six of nine innings, including a four-spot in the eighth.
Wilmington (3-21 overall, 0-4 OAC) returns to action 4 p.m. Monday for a non-conference nine-inning game at Thomas More.
