My favorite memory of the 2019-20 wrestling season was the home dual meet against Otterbein University on Nov. 19, 2019. This dual happened to be the first wrestling dual I've covered in my career and coincidentally, the first home dual at Wilmington College since the program was reinstated at varsity status (seven years).

The meet gathered a decent crowd at Hermann Court for the match against a regional powerhouse in the Cardinals. The match itself ended in an Otterbein victory, but it signified the return of the Fightin' Quakers' wrestling program to campus.

Zack Gutknecht fell in a hard-fought match via major decision in the 125-pound weight class while Clayton Schirmer was defeated via major decision (9-6) in the 157-pound weight class.
