The duo of Hunter Stith and Griffin Stith helped the Wilmington College men's cross country team to a victory over Thomas More in a dual relay meet Tuesday on the Wilmington College campus.

Each runner ran a two-mile loop, and then their partner would run a two-mile loop with each athlete running the loop three times.

"I though the men did a nice job winning over a much improved Thomas More squad," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. "We ran well in the front, finishing first and second. I enjoyed the old school relay-style format that we used. Not that many schools do dual meets anymore, but everyone liked the format. It was a good was to kick off the competitive season. We are excited about Franklin coming up on Saturday. We will know a lot more about our team after Saturday's meet."

Twin sophomores Hunter Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia) and Griffin Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia) combined to finish the 12-mile run in 1:02.58. They were followed by freshman Rick Pride (Mount Orab, OH/Western Brown) and senior Dominic King (Bettsville, OH/Bettsville), who combined to complete the race in 1:04.59.

With only the top three teams scoring, Wilmington secured the victory after the first two pairs finished.

Thomas More had the next four pair to complete the run.

Elliot Phillimore (Old Fort, OH/Old Fort)/Tony Wydra (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) placed seventh (1:08.59), followed by Matt Baker (Liberty Center, OH/Liberty Center)/Gage Egner (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) in 1:10.28.

Cameron Erwin (South Vienna, OH/Northeastern)/Jeff Cook (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) finished in 1:14.40, and Dustin Willey (Leesburg, OH/Fairfield Local)/Travis Scheadler (Goshen, OH/Goshen) finished in 1:22.08.

Wilmington competes in the Franklin Invitational Saturday.
