AKRON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's swimming team opened the 2023 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships with a fifth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay on Wednesday evening.
Caden Traggiai, Michael Phillippe, Logan Lippert and Austin Faries swum a time of 7:25.65 to open the championships. Defending champion John Carroll University won the event by touching the wall in 6:43.11.
As a team, the Quakers are fifth with 28 points while the Blue Streaks lead with 40 points.
The first full day of competition begins with morning preliminaries at 10 a.m. followed by evening finals at 6:30 p.m.
