Wilmington College sophomore Amber Rox has been honored by a national organization for her work on the court and in the classroom.
The Black College Sports Information Directors Association (BCSIDA) announced Rox (Lawrenceburg, IN/Lawrenceburg) as the BCSIDA Female Student-Athlete of the Month, presented by Corbitt Graphics.
She is third on the team with 71 kills and is tied for the team-lead with 114 digs. The WC Freshman of the Year and Team MVP last season, is also an Admission ambassador.
Rox sports a 3.41 GPA in accounting.
The BCSIDA Student-Athlete of the Month award recognizes student-athletes that are excelling in the classroom and on the field. All nominees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and must be within good overall standing with their university. A student-athlete is eligible to be considered for the BCSIDA Student-Athlete of the Month as long as their sport is currently in season.
ABOUT BCSIDA: Founded in 1984, the Black College Sports Information Directors of America (BCSIDA) serves as a platform to bring together individuals in the field of sports information/media relations/athletic communications, by providing networking and educational opportunities to those who desire to further their professional standing, raise the standards and comply with the ethics of the sports information/media relations/athletic communications profession. The organization actively seeks to increase opportunities for fellowship between the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Historically Black College and University (HBCU) sports information directors, African-Americans in the profession who might not be affiliated with an HBCU and their allies who are committed to the same goals.
