SEASON PREVIEW: @DubC_Volleyball

Three years into the Tim O'Brien era, he is ready to take the Fightin' Quakers program to all new heights.

"I'm very excited for what this year has in store for our women's volleyball program," said O'Brien. "I think we have created a schedule, and put together a roster, where we can be very successful. Both of these things will continue to give us the ability to get better as a team and to be able to peak during conference play. We will be relying on a lot of young talent this year, but I'm confident they will continue to help us improve on and off the court. This will be my third season at Wilmington and I believe this group will help the volleyball program develop and compete at the highest level."

Led by team MVP Amber Rox, Wilmington returns 89 percent of its kills. The sophomore recorded a team-high 233 kills. However, her contributions weren't limited to the offensive end as Rox was second on the team with 276 digs and third with 17 blocks.

Senior Kennedy Harshaw was second on the team with 135 kills, while sophomore Morgan Householder finished third with 84 kills. Householder was another solid two-way player as she finished third on the team with 189 digs.

The catalyst for the Wilmington offense will be sophomore Alyssa McKenzie, who was responsible for 57 percent of the team's assists. She distributed 347 assists while playing in 26 of the team's 29 matches.

Three-year starter Becca Harting is the lynchpin to the Wilmington defense after recording a team-high 316 digs. She was also second on the team with 17 service aces.

Sophomores Jessica Hadley and Lauren Fraysier are Wilmington's primary forces at the net after combining for 39 blocks last season.

Wilmington kicks off its season by hosting a tri-match September 1 with Edison Community College and OU Chillicothe.
