BEXLEY – The Wilmington College volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-14, 25-13, 25-21) Tuesday to Capital in Ohio Athletic Conference action at the Capital Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A trio of setters combined to distribute the Wilmington offense, led by sophomore Alyssa McKenzie (Adrian, MI/Adrian), who finished with nine assists. Sophomore Summer Wilbur (Manchester, OH/Manchester) added six assists and freshman Lauryn Griewahn (Adrian, MI/Adrian) recorded five assists.
- Freshman Ariel Goforth (Memphis, TN/Bartlett) recorded a team-high eight kills on 21 attempts, while freshman Jillian Wesco (Troy, OH/Miami East) added five kills.
- Freshman Taylor McCuiston (Troy, OH/Miami East) led the team with six digs, while Wesco had two of WC's four block assists.
WHAT'S NEXT
Wilmington (4-13 overall, 0-2 OAC) steps away from OAC action 7 p.m. Thursday, traveling to UC Clermont. The Fightin' Quakers defeated UCC, 3-1, earlier this season.
