Volleyball falls to Capital

WILMINGTON – The Wilmington College volleyball team lost to Capital Tuesday in straight sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-13) in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Hermann Court.

The Fightin' Quakers hit its best of the match in the first set, with 10 kills on 20 attempts with just one error (.450). However, the hitting percentage decreased to .226 in the second set and then to .138 in the final.

Freshman Ariana Neff (Naples, FL/Gulf Coast) distributed a game-high 24 assists, eight of which were put away by senior Caity Massie (St. Paris, OH/Graham). Sophomore Natalie Sparks (West Jefferson, OH/West Jefferson) added seven kills for WC.

Senior Anne Keenan (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek) had a team-high 10 digs.

Wilmington (6-14 overall, 0-4 OAC) will travel to Berea noon Saturday to face Baldwin-Wallace in OAC action.
