(BEREA, Ky.) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team competed in an unscored Landon Bond Classic today, hosted at Berea College. The Quakers had several athletes with good days, including Nathen Borgan, who broke the program record in the Hammer Throw.

Borgan not only competed this afternoon, but he also competed yesterday at the Akron Northeast Ohio Open, where he placed fifth in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 60.61m. That personal best didn't last long, because his toss of 62.45m not only won him the event, but it broke the program record. He still holds the second longest throw in the Hammer in Division III and is one of just three competitors to break the 60-meter mark this season.

Borgan's teammates finished the event in second, third, and fourth. The event didn't have finals and was called due to darkness, but the Quakers made the best of their three throws. Durr also competed at the Akron Northeast Ohio Open yesterday and was eighth in the Hammer at 57.96m. He threw 57.52m today and was second. Justin Shuga was third in the event with a personal best throw of 53.39m, while Nate Marcum was fourth at 51.42m.

In the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, Noah Tobin won the event with a time of 9:59.99 and was the only competitor under 10 minutes. His teammate Tyler Parks finished second with a time of 10:31.08.

Tobin also won the 5000 Meter Run at 15:35.41, with Simon Heys finishing behind him at 15:35.62, and Parks finishing fourth with a personal best time of 16:27.50. Gabe Moore was fifth in the same race at 16:31.80.

In the 1,500 Meter Run, Heys won the event at 3:58.16 and Tate Yoder took fourth with a time of 4:07.87. The Shot Put gave Mike Soltis a win with a throw of 13.85m on his final attempt. Shuga finished fifth in the event at 13.38m.

Three Quakers finished in the top-eight of the Discus Throw. Shuga was third with a mark of 44.68m. Durr was sixth at 41.24m and Perry Kingrey took eighth with a personal best toss of 38.91m.

The final event that saw multiple Quakers in the top-eight was the High Jump. Brady Vilvens tied for second place with a clearance of 1.90m and Carson Miles finished seventh in his second meet as a Quaker, also with a clearance of 1.90m. Vilvens cleared on his first attempt, while it took Miles till his third and final attempt to clear the height.

The team of Noah Paxton, Dane Klosterman, Donovan Mosley, and Omar Beckley were sixth in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of 44.94 seconds. Also finishing sixth was Kingrey in the Javelin Throw with a personal best mark of 42.55m. Klosterman finished eighth in both the 110 Meter Hurdles (17.23 seconds), and the 400 Meter Hurdles (59.85 seconds).
