Nathen Borgan Uses Huge Hammer Throw to Earn OAC Field Athlete of the Week Honors

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced their Athletes of the Week this afternoon, and for the first time in his Outdoor Track & Field career and second time overall, junior Nathen Borgan is the OAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

After throwing his way to All-American status with a seventh-place finish in the Weight Throw at NCAA Division III Indoor Nationals, Borgan began his quest to become a two-time All-American in the Hammer Throw on Saturday.

The Quakers opened up their outdoor campaign at Cedarville University in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open. Borgan competed in both the Hammer Throw and the Discus Throw. Borgan dominated the competition in the Hammer Throw, recording a mark of 60.02m to win the event by over a meter and post the second longest mark in Division III this season. This was the first time in Borgan's career that he eclipsed the 60-meter mark. In the Discus Throw, Borgan finished 10th with a toss of 41.26m.

Wilmington is back in action Saturday afternoon at the Landon Bond Classic in Berea, Kentucky, with the meet scheduled to begin at 10:00 A.M.
