Bolen Named OAC Swimmer of the Week for Second Time this Season

OAC Press Release

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced their Athletes of the Week this afternoon and Quakers senior men's swimmer Cameron Bolen was named the OAC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season and third time in his career.

Bolen and the Quakers swam at the Corbiere-Merion Invitational this weekend, which was hosted by the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops in Delaware, Ohio. Bolen began his meet in the 200 Yard Medley Relay Saturday, where he, Joakim Pedersen, Sondre Haugen, and John Good finished in second place with a time of 1:37.19. Bolen was the second leg of the relay and swam his 50 Yards in 26.49.

In his first individual performance, the 100 Yard Breaststroke, he finished in fourth at 59.64 seconds. He was then a part of the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay where Wilmington won with a time of 3:14.93, over three seconds better than second place. That team consisted of Bolen, Haugen, Pedersen, and Good. He was the anchor of that relay and finished with the best time on his team at 47.52 for his 100 Yards.

Bolen picked up his first individual event win in the 100 Yard Freestyle, besting his teammate Haugen with a time of 48.02 to Sondre's 48.30. In the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, the Quakers team of Haugen, Austin Reed, Bolen, and Logan Lippert finished third at 7:30.53. He was the third leg and finished with a time of 1:54.59 during his 200 Free.

During day two yesterday, he began with a win in the 50 Yard Freestyle at 21.25 before anchoring the Quakers winning 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team. It was Haugen, Good, Nick Kaufman, and Bolen, with Cameron swimming a team-best 21.28 to take the win home for Wilmington.
