Lucas Skibba Joins Football Staff

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Lucas Skibba, a former All-American and national champion, has joined the Wilmington College football staff as an assistant coach for the 2021 fall season. He will serve as offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.

"Coach Skibba was at the top of a very talented pool of candidates, and ultimately, his experience coaching and recruiting at every level of college football put him over the top," Head Football Coach Bryan Moore said. "He was a part of several national championship runs at Wisconsin-Whitewater as a player and as a coach, served as a full-time offensive line coach in the NAIA ranks and most recently was on the staff at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois University. He has seen and experienced what it takes to reach the pinnacle at this level of football and I am anxious for him to share those experiences with our players."

Skibba comes to Wilmington from Northern Illinois where he served as a graduate assistant coach for the offensive line since 2019. He helped mentor two All-Mid American Conference (MAC) performers in Jordan Steckler and Brayden Patton. He assisted in weekly breakdown of opponent's film, prepped the defensive scout team, worked with planning the run game and protections and managed the program's academic needs. Skibba also made stops for a single season at NAIA Dakota State University, Coffeyville Community College and Murray State University.

A four-year member of the Wisconsin-Whitewater program, Skibba was a 2013 All-American offensive lineman for the Warhawks and was a member of three teams who won the NCAA Division III championship. He also spent three seasons on staff working with the offensive line and mentored Tony Koepnick and Austin Jones to All-American honors.

Skibba has two degrees in education from UW-Whitewater.
