The Wilmington College volleyball team hosted a tri-match Friday, and fell to both Marietta and Albion in non-conference action at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.  Despite being a member with Wilmington in the Ohio Athletic Conference, the match with Marietta was a non-conference tilt.

MARIETTA 3, WILMINGTON 0

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Wilmington played without starting setter Alyssa McKenzie (Adrian, MI/Adrian), and was forced to move starting libero Becca Harting (Farmersville, OH/Valley View) to setter. It was her first career start at the position, and it was the first career start at libero for freshman Morgan Householder (Somerset, OH/Sheridan).
  • Freshman Amber Rox (Lawrenceburg, IN/Lawrenceburg) finished with a team-high six kills on 31 attempts.
  • Freshman Lauren Fraysier (Marion, OH/River Valley) added four kills on 10 attempts with just one error.
  • Harting finished with eight assists, while senior Kara Short (Conover, OH/Fairlawn) added five assists.
  • Householder recorded a team-high 10 digs.

ALBION 3, WILMINGTON 1

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Short, for the first time in her career, spent an extended amount of time as the team's primary setter. She finished with a career-high 21 assists.
  • Rox finished with seven kills, while Fraysier and junior Kennedy Harshaw (Xenia, OH/Yellow Springs) finished with four kills.
  • Junior Ileesha White (Columbus, OH/Walnut Hills) finished with three block solos.
