Women's Basketball Faces Otterbein on the Road on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team looks for its third consecutive win when the Fightin' Quakers travel to Otterbein University for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday evening.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Quakers are 11-10 overall and 6-8 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) after a 68-52 victory over John Carroll University on Saturday.  The Cardinals are 13- overall and 9-5 in the conference and riding a six-game winning streak.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 28th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 450 career victories. Connie Richardson is in her 27th season has head women's basketball coach at Otterbein. The 1986 Heidelberg University graduate has accumulated over 300 victories.

The Players: Mackenzie Campbell leads the Quakers in scoring at 14.6 points per game while also dishing out a team-high 2.8 assists per contest and grabbing 6.8 rebounds a game. Emily Harman, who leads the squad in rebounding at seven boards per game, Savannah Hooper and Hannah Binkley all score over six points per game. A trio of Cardinals – Kiersten Taylor, Dani Kissel and Ali Cartnal – score in double figures and combine to account for nearly 60 percent of Otterbein's offense.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 65.7, Otterbein 65.7, opponents' points per game – Wilmington 67.1, Otterbein 66.3; field goal percentage – Wilmington 40.7, Otterbein 40.2; three-point percentage – Wilmington 32.2, Otterbein 28.6; free throw percentage – Wilmington 74.1, Otterbein 76.2; rebounds per game – Wilmington 42.0, Otterbein 35.5; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.73, Otterbein 1.06.

Recent History: Wilmington is 14-10 against Otterbein in the last decade. The Quakers won both matchups last season including a 62-51 victory at the Rike Center. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.

First Time Around: Otterbein overcame a double-digit deficit to down Wilmington 70-65 in overtime on Jan. 17. The win began the Cardinals' six-game winning streak.

Quest for OAC Tournament: Wilmington is currently seventh in the OAC with four games remaining. The top eight teams qualify for the OAC Tournament later this month.
