WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team continues its 2020-21 season with a pair of games against Marietta College this weekend.

The Schedule: Wilmington will host Marietta for a 7 p.m. contest on Friday before traveling to Ban Johnson Arena for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. The Fightin' Quakers are 2-4 on the season after splitting a pair of games against Capital University over the weekend. The Pioneers stand at 3-1 over sweeping Muskingum University in two games last weekend.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 14th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Jon VanderWal, Marietta's all-time winningest men's basketball coach, has been the Pioneers' head coach since the 2007-08 season. VanderWal has guided the Pioneers to six consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.

The Players: Jeffery Mansfield, a First Team All-OAC selection a season ago, leads Wilmington in scoring (20.3 points per game) as well as helping his teammates score to the tune of 5.8 assists per game.  Bilal Sow averages 10.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while Noah Dado is the team's leading rebounder at 5.2 boards per contest. A quartet of Pioneers – Mason Lydic, Jason Ellis, Tim Kreeger and Lukas Isaly – all score between 14-18 points per game for Marietta. Brett Martin is the team's leading rebounder at 5.5 boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 73.2, Marietta 92.3; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 78.0, Marietta 78.5 field goal percentage – Wilmington 46.9, Marietta 48.9; three-point percentage – Wilmington 36.6, Marietta 37.5; free throw percentage – Wilmington 67.4, Marietta 71.1; rebounds per game – Wilmington 30.7, Marietta 42.3; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.09, Marietta, 1.70.

Recent History: Wilmington is 16-36 against Marietta since becoming an NCAA Division III member prior to the 1991 season. The Pioneers have won the last three meetings with the Quakers' last win coming in a 68-62 triumph at Hermann Court on February 9, 2019.
