Stockton named OAC Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN – The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Wilmington College senior Ashley Stockton as its women's soccer Player of the Week, the league announced today (September 28, 2015).

"Ashley is having a very strong senior year and she continues to work hard for the team," said Wilmington head coach Steve Spirk.

Stockton (Waynesville, OH/Waynesville) scored the game-winning goal in both of Wilmington's wins this past week. She scored on a penalty kick with 32 seconds remaining to lift the Fightin' Quakers to a 3-2 win over Ohio Wesleyan Wednesday.

She added the only goal, a marker in the 72nd minute, in Wilmington's 1-0 win over Manchester.

Wilmington (6-3 overall), riding a four-match winning streak, opens Ohio Athletic Conference action 7 p.m. Saturday, hosting Marietta, in the team's JennaStrong game. Fans are encouraged to wear purple for WC's Epilepsy Awareness day.
