Women's Basketball Continues OAC Tournament at John Carroll on Tuesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team will play its second Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament game in as many days on Tuesday when the Fightin' Quakers travel to top-seeded John Carroll University for a 6 p.m. contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and John Carroll (JCU). The Quakers enter the game with a 7-6 record having defeated Muskingum University 72-57 in the opening round of the OAC Tournament on Monday. The Blue Streaks are 12-2 on the season having most recently split a season series with Otterbein University.

The Coaches: Wilmington's interim head coach for the season, has been the program's top assistant coach for the last two years. She's also no stranger to the OAC, having graduated from Otterbein University and assisted at the University of Mount Union, as well as being familiar with an interim role having held that title at Earlham College. Beth Andrews is also in her first season as JCU's head coach having spent the previous two seasons as the program's top assistant coach.

The Players: Wilmington is led in scoring by the Binkley twins as McKayla averages 17.5 points per game and Hannah Binkley scores 11.8 points per contest. McKayla Binkley is also the team's leading rebounder at 6.5 boards per 40 minutes while Kennedy Lewis and Zahrya Bailey combine to dish out nearly six assists per game. The Blue Streaks are led by two of the best players in the OAC in Nicole Heffington and Olivia Nagy. Heffington averages 18 points per game while Nagy is close (12.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game) to averaging a double-double.

OAC Tournament History: Wilmington has a 26-16 program record in the OAC Tournament including an even 10-10 record in quarterfinals. The Quakers are 4-2 against JCU in the postseason tournament, but the Blue Streaks have won the last two meetings.
