WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team continues its 2020-21 season with a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) games against Capital University this weekend.

The Schedule: The Fightin' Quakers host the Crusaders for a 7 p.m. game at Fred Raizk Arena on Friday before traveling to Bexley for a 6 p.m. contest on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. The Quakers enter the weekend with an even 2-2 record having split series with both Ohio Northern University and Muskingum University. The Crusaders, who missed the opening weekend due to COVID-19 protocol issues, are 1-1 after splitting a pair of games with Heidelberg University.

The Coaches: Wilmington's interim head coach for the season, has been the program's top assistant coach for the last two years. She's also no stranger to the OAC, having graduated from Otterbein University and assisted at the University of Mount Union, as well as being familiar with an interim role having held that title at Earlham College. Dixie Jeffers, also the interim director of athletics at Capital, is the OAC's all-time winningest basketball coach with 736 victories. She won consecutive NCAA Division III National championships in the mid 1990s.

The Players: A trio of Quakers – McKayla Binkley, Zahrya Bailey and Hannah Binkley – all average double figures in scoring with McKayla Binkley's 16.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game leading the way. Bailey and Kennedy Lewis combine to dish out over four assists per contest. Kaylee Cyphers and Emma Burns both average in double figures for the Crusaders while Brooke Ommert grabs a team-high seven boards per game.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 73.0, Capital 61.0; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 71.5, Capital 57.0; field goal percentage – Wilmington 42.5, Capital 40.5; three-point percentage – Wilmington 31.9, Capital 30.3; free throw percentage – Wilmington 63.6, Capital 78.6; rebounds per game – Wilmington 41.8, Capital 33.0; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.81, Capital 0.90.

Recent History: Wilmington is 21-29 against Capital since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. Capital has won the previous three meetings. More information can be viewed by visiting the link above.

COVID-19 Precautions: The OAC Presidents made the difficult decision to not allow any fans at athletic contests until at least March 1.
