WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team continues its 2020-21 season with a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) games against Muskingum University this weekend.

The Schedule: The Fightin' Quakers host the Fighting Muskies for a 7 p.m. game at Fred Raizk Arena on Friday before traveling to New Concord for a 6 p.m. contest on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Quakers opened the season by splitting a series with Ohio Northern University (ONU) last weekend with the road team winning both games. Wilmington won 61-59 in Ada while ONU took a 53-52 decision at Hermann Court. In both games, the home team had a shot to win the game, and both missed. The Muskies had their first two games canceled due to COVID-19 protocol issues with Capital University. Muskingum finished last season with a 3-20 overall record.

The Coaches: Wilmington's interim head coach for the season, has been the program's top assistant coach for the last two years. She's also no stranger to the OAC, having graduated from Otterbein University and assisted at the University of Mount Union, as well as being familiar with an interim role having held that title at Earlham College. Erin Eaton is in her second season as Muskingum's head coach. She too is familiar with the OAC having worked as an assistant coach at Baldwin Wallace University in the past.

The Players: Wilmington is led in scoring by the Binkley twins as McKayla averages 15.5 points per game and Hannah Binkley scores 13 points per contest. McKayla Binkley is also the team's leading rebounder at 5.5 boards per 40 minutes while Kennedy Lewis dishes out 5.5 assists per game. Muskingum returns one of its leading scorers from last year in Olivia Lang, who scored 11.1 points per game last season. Muskingum also welcomes five freshmen to the program.

Tale of the Tape (2019-20 for Muskingum only): Points per game – Wilmington 56.5, Muskingum 62.9; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 56.0, Muskingum 80.0; field goal percentage – Wilmington 36.2, Muskingum 37.4; three-point percentage – Wilmington 35.0, Muskingum 31.7; free throw percentage – Wilmington 68.2, Muskingum 65.2; rebounds per game – Wilmington 33.5, Muskingum 36.2; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.81, Muskingum 0.53.

Recent History: Wilmington is 40-6 against Muskingum dating back to the 1994 season. The Quakers have won 12 straight games against the Muskies and are 37-4 as members of the OAC. More information can be viewed by visiting the link above.

COVID-19 Precautions: The OAC Presidents made the difficult decision to not allow any fans at athletic contests until at least March 1.
