WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wilmington men's track and field team continues postseason mode as they send individuals to the Mount Union Last Chance Meet. These athletes are looking at one final shot to extend their seasons to the Division III National Meet.
The Schedule: The meet is set to start with field events at 2:00 PM followed by running events at 4:00 PM.
The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by other Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) schools.
The Coach: Ron Combs continues his 23rd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.
Who to Watch: The Quaker throw squad has been nearly perfect all season long as they look to smash personal bests in order to make it to nationals. Nate Marcum, Joe Shuga and Andrew Pacifico are competing in the hammer throw while Blake Jamison is going solo in shotput and discus. For the second meet in a row, George Rickett is running solo for the team as he competes in the 10,000-meter run.
