Men's Track & Field Heads to Otterbein for OAC Elite Meet

WILMINGTON, Ohio -  Wilmington will be sending the men's team off to Westerville, Ohio to compete against the top athletes in the conference at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Elite Meet.  

The Schedule:  Field events start at 11:00 AM, however, track events start later in the day at 4:00 PM. 

The Teams:  The Quakers will be joined at Memorial Stadium by the entirety of the OAC. 

The Coach: Ron Combs continues his 23rd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch:  Simon Heys is coming off of an off week after running a top five Division three time in the country in the 10,000-meter run the weekend prior. He will be competing in the hottest race of the day, the 5,000-meter run. Nate Marcum enters the Elite Meet in the top three in the conference in both events in which he competes. He will look to score in both the discus and the hammer throw.
