(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's basketball team won a thriller at home Saturday afternoon against the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets in overtime, 73-71. After the Yellow Jackets tied the game with seven seconds left, Quakers junior Domenic Farley raced down the floor and nailed a mid-range jumper for the win. The celebration ensued for Wilmington as they improved their record to 9-14 this season and 5-11 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Farley had a team-high 15 points, while a trio of other Quakers scored in double-digits in the win. They travel to Ohio Northern University to take on the Polar Bears on Wednesday night in their next game.

After the game was tied 8-8, Baldwin Wallace ripped off a 9-0 run to take the momentum and a 17-8 lead with 10:14 remaining in the first half of play. The Yellow Jackets kept a steady lead throughout the half, but with a 24-18 advantage, used a 6-0 flurry to extend their lead to 30-18. The Quakers battled back from this and put together a crucial 6-0 run of their own to end the half trailing 30-24. Ben Golan, Matthew Dugue, and Rashid Chisholm provided the points for Wilmington.

The Yellow Jackets tried to scamper away in the early stages of the second half, but the Quakers wouldn't allow them to do so. After trailing 45-36, a 12-5 rally began for Wilmington to make it a two-point game at 50-48. However, the Yellow Jackets went right back up 58-51 as the Quakers couldn't get over the hump to tie or take the lead.

This would be the case until a pair of Quakers threes from Travis Mitchell and Jayden Lewis cut it to one, before two Baldwin Wallace free throws made it 60-57. The next possession saw Lewis tie the game with another huge three-pointer for a 60-60 tie with 3:40 remaining.

Farley then began to take over the game for Wilmington. After trailing 64-60, an and one by Farley provided three points for the Quakers, before another Farley layup tied the game at 65-65. The final shot by Baldwin Wallace was no good and the game headed to overtime.

The Quakers fell behind 69-67 in overtime, before Gavin Heimlich made one of two at the free throw line to cut it to one at 69-68. However, the missed free throw saw a huge offensive rebound from Ben Golan, before Carson Miles made a layup to go ahead 70-69.

The Quakers were unable to ice the game at the free throw line, and the Yellow Jackets tied it at 71-71. Domenic Farley then sprinted down the floor and made a move past his defender, making his way to the right side of the paint. He pulled up from there and sank the jumper for the 73-71 win.
