(TIFFIN, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's basketball team dropped their Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) road contest Saturday afternoon to the Heidelberg University Student Princes, 66-52. The Quakers held a slight 26-24 advantage at the half but couldn't hold off a furious Heidelberg offense in the second half. Wilmington is now 5-8 overall this season and 1-5 in the OAC.

Neither team took a large lead in the first half, with it sitting at 13-10 in favor of the Quakers with 10:46 to play in the half after a dunk by Obed Achirem. A 14-5 run ensued for the Student Princes to give them a 24-18 lead with just 3:19 remaining in the first 20 minutes of play. The Quakers rallied though and used an 8-0 sprint to end the half and take a 26-24 lead into the locker room. The run was fueled by three-pointers from both Domenic Farley and Gavin Heimlich. Rashid Chisholm made a last second shot after Farley missed a three pointer and Chisholm converted a put back layup.

The Quakers began the second half with an 11-6 push to extend their lead to 37-30 with 16:05 remaining in the game. However, the Student Princes didn't blink and used a 15-4 rally to grab a 45-41 advantage with 9:16 to play. The Quakers would cut this lead down to one after a Farley three made it 45-44. This was as close as the Quakers would get though as they were unable to get over the hump and tie the game or take the lead for the remainder of the contest in the 66-52 defeat.
