(NEW CONCORD, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's basketball team fell behind by double digits early in the first half and couldn't claw their way out of the hole in an 84-71 defeat against the Muskingum University Fighting Muskies Wednesday night on the road. Domenic Farley led the team with 18 points, while Carson Miles continued his solid play of late with 12 points. The Quakers fall to 8-14 overall this season and 4-11 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).

The Muskies took a 20-9 lead less than nine minutes into the game, as the Quakers struggled from the start. Wilmington didn't have their first made field goal until a Matthew Dugue layup snapped the skid nearly six minutes into the game.

The Quakers found themselves trailing 35-23 late in the first half. However, the team made a much-needed late push over the final two minutes, using an 8-3 run to end the half trailing 38-31. The flurry was led by four Travis Mitchell points.

The second half saw Muskingum jump back out to an 11-point lead, but the Quakers would absorb the blow and push back to within four at 48-44. This push was led by five Carson Miles points.  However, just as soon as the Quakers tried to come back, the Muskies pushed the lead back out to 10 points. The Quakers didn't cut into the lead much after falling back down by double-digits in the 84-71 loss.
