@DubC_MensHoops loses, still makes OAC Tournament

ALLIANCE – The Wilmington College men's basketball team ended the regular season with a 105-86 loss to Mount Union Saturday in Ohio Athletic Conference action at the MAAC.

However, due to Muskingum's loss to John Carroll Saturday, the Fightin Quakers will be the eighth seed in the upcoming OAC tournament. Wilmington travels to No. 4 Marietta 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mount Union scored nine of the first 10 points, and never looked back in posting the victory. The Purple Raiders took its biggest lead of the game, 29 points, with a little over five minutes remaining in the game.

Sophomore Christian Jones (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton) led the way with 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Senior Zach McCorkle (Cincinnati, OH/Winton Woods) added 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Sophomore D.J. Iles (Fayetteville, OH/Fayetteville Perry) and freshman Will Patrick (Chester, PA/Pickerington Central (OH)) each distributed a team-high four assists, while scoring nine and eight points, respectively.
