MEN'S PREVIEW: Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets

The Wilmington College men's basketball team travels to Berea 3 p.m. Saturday to face the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets in Ohio Athletic Conference. The Fightin' Quakers will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak.

Baldwin Wallace brings in a pair of premier players in the league's top scorer and rebounder.

Sophomore guard Cameron Kuhn is leading the OAC with 25.3 points per game, while sophomore Jake Fetherolf is pulling down a league-best 11.6 boards per game. Fetherolf is the team's second leading scorer with 12.8 points. The forward leads the OAC, making 63.6 percent of his shots.

"(BW is) a very good basketball team," said Wilmington head coach K.C. Hunt. "Another in the list of good teams we are playing. They are big and physical. They have a great scorer on the perimeter in Cameron Kuhn; it's going to be a tough challenge. Fetherolf is a load. There is no question, he is tough in there."

Kuhn has taken more than twice as many shots (152) as the nearest teammate (Fetherolf, 77). He is shooting 50 percent from the floor (76-of-152), including 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from three-point territory. Not only is Kuhn shooting well from the field, he is going to the free throw line a team-high 51 times, making 88.2 percent.

While Kuhn is the primary scorer, the Yellow Jackets are proficient shooters as a team, making 47 percent of their shots. Baldwin Wallace is also making 42 percent  (103-of-245) from the three-point line.

"We have to chase them off the three-point line," said Hunt. "They are scoring almost 90 points a game. We have to take better shots than we've been taking. One of the things that have hurt us is poor shot selection, which puts us in poor position defensively. We have to be more disciplined and really match the physical toughness; and play at a level that we haven't played at from a competitive or physical standpoint."
