MEN'S PREVIEW: JOHN CARROLL

One of the top scoring teams in the country visits Fred Raizk Arena at Hermann Court 3 p.m. Saturday as the Wilmington College men's basketball team faces John Carroll.

The unbeaten Blue Streaks are averaging 97.7 points per game, and have scored at least 100 points in three of the teams seven games. A team that rotates five players at time has six players averaging at least nine points and 10 players playing at least 15 minutes.

John Carroll wants to play fast as evident by its ability to average 75 shots per game, which are 14 shots more than Wilmington is attempting.

Junior guard David Linane is JCU's top scorer and distributor with 13.3 points per game and 44 assists, which are twice as many as the closest teammate. His 6.4 assists per game are second in the OAC.

Senior Will Starks is third on the team with 12.4 points per game, and is the team's top three-point shooter. He has made a team-high 21 three-pointers, while making them at 45.7 percent.

Coming off the bench for 12.6 points per game, sophomore Antonio Vuyancih is the top scorer for the second group.

Forwards Doug Caputo (9.3 points and 7.1 rebounds) and Simon Kucharewicz (8.7 points and 5.3 rebounds) are the leading post threats for the Blue Streaks. The ability for the undersized Fightin' Quakers, who are ninth in the OAC in rebounding margin at -8.2, to survive on the glass will be pivotal.

Senior Zach McCorkle (Cincinnati, OH/Winton Woods) leads the team with 6.7 rebounds, and is second on the team with 15.3 points per game. Sophomore Christian Jones (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton) leads the team with 15.5 points per game, and has reached double figures in five of six games this season.
