OAC, NCAC to honor Goodwin

The Ohio Athletic Conference and the North Coast Athletic Conference will honor Capital University head coach Damon Goodwin during the National Basketball Coaches Association's (NABC) Suits and Sneakers week starting January 25.

As a part of the NABC's efforts, members of the OAC and NCAC will team up to raise funds in the name of Goodwin, who is battling leukemia. The funds raised during that six-day span will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in Goodwin's name.
"Cancer is a global epidemic," said Wilmington head coach K.C. Hunt. "It has hit us especially close to home with one of my friends and colleagues Damon Goodwin of Capital University having been diagnosed with Leukemia. Hopefully we all can do our part to bring as much awareness as possible to those battling this terrible disease."

In addition, OAC and NCAC coaches will be wearing orange ties on Saturday, January 30th as a show of support for Coach Goodwin, his family and the cause. Wilmington hosts Heidelberg at 3 p.m. at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court in OAC action.

All donations are tax deductible and go to support LLS research, patient services, advocacy, education, and community services.  Please visit lls.org to for more information and to donate online.
